PRELUDE: Encouragement to be polished
Years ago, a good friend laughingly observed that I'm never without a red pen in my purse. She's right; I've always had a keen eye for editing and proofreading. I have a gift for picking up on inconsistencies and a passion for helping to bring them into harmony and congruence within a literary work. Just as writing and rewriting involve process, numerous drafts, and multiple iterations, so do life's lessons.
We are the paper on which God writes, etches, and engraves His divine will. He lovingly and graciously polishes us through the seasons of life. Yet, with every experience, His presence is ever near. As a writer, I invite you to glimpse snapshots of my journey as I continue to be polished (daily!) by The Ultimate Paper Polisher...because we're ALL works in progress!
PURPOSE: Esteem the fact that you are an especially exceptional canvas
From the fragmented pieces and in the broken places of our lives, God is skilled and adept at creating a masterpiece out of what we consider a mess.
PROCESS: Experience is how God polishes us
Life writes its story on our canvas. Yet, God is the Author and the Finisher of our faith, so He has the final say on how our story unfolds - this is good news!
PATIENCE: Embrace the polishing
Sometimes it feels like the process is taking too long, doesn't it? I can certainly relate! Nevertheless, each new experience teaches us to trust that God's plan is uniquely tailored to fit each of us individually.
PROGRESS: Embody growth and maturity
Stay encouraged through the growing pains...growth and maturity are taking place whether you realize it or not.
PERFECTING: Enjoy the journey
We will continue to be polished every day, so we may as well enjoy the journey!
